TSO | Conductors' Forum Academy

Wednesday 26 – Friday 28 August 2026

In cooperation with World Federation of International Music Competitions, Princess Astrid IMC offers an extended programme for non-advancing candidates and reserve participants. Members of the jury and representatives from the TSO management will contribute to sessions focusing on career development and other key topics within the conducting profession.

Reserve participants (not non-advancing candidates) will also be given limited podium time during the conducting masterclass on Friday 28 August. Please note that the programme will take place from 26 to 28 August, commencing the day after the finals.

Participants

The Academy will gather approx. 20 young conductors: a group of reserve participants, a group from the Norwegian Conductors Elite program, and the non-proceeding competition candidates.

Aim of the Academy

The Conductor’s Forum Academy aims to empower the next generation of conductors by offering access to the expertise, insight, and mentorship of internationally renowned jury members. Through a combination of professional guidance, artistic inspiration, and career-focused support, participants are encouraged to develop their potential and navigate the challenges of a conducting career.Beyond this strong educational framework, the Academy offers valuable opportunities to build an international network, exchange ideas, and connect with like-minded peers from around the world.
