PRINCESS ASTRID INTERNTATIONAL MUSIC COMPETITION - Trondheim Symfoniorkester & Opera invites young conductors to submit applications for Princess Astrid International Music Competition 2018 - for young CONDUCTORS

The competition has been held biannually since 1953, and has alternated among various instruments. Since 2012 the competition rotates between violin and conducting. In 2018 the time has once again come for inviting young CONDUCTORS to the Princess Astrid International Music Competition.

Princess Astrid International Music Competition 2018 takes place in Trondheim, Norway on September 10 - September 13, 2018.

Application deadline: May 10, 2018, 12:00pm CET.

Prizes
The first prize consists of a check for 160.000 NOK and an assignment to conduct the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra in a concert at a later date.
The second prize consists of a check for 50.000 NOK.
The third prize consists of a check for 25.000 NOK.
In addition “Finn Audun Oftedal’s Memorial Scholarship” – 20.000 NOK, will be awarded the best Norwegian candidate in the final rounds.
